The Yorkshire Dales

A truly unique landscape.

The stunning patchwork of dry stone walls, limestone pavements and flower-rich meadows makes the Yorkshire Dales and its National Park a truly unique landscape. The official boundary starts in the neighbouring village of Ingleton and stretches north past Kirkby Lonsdale to above Kirkby Stephen. To the east it runs above Skipton into Bolton Abbey and right around to the edge of Richmond.

This outstanding place is fabulous for all ages to explore. Whether you’re looking for a break with kids or a walking weekend with friends, there’s a myriad of places to discover. From tumbling waterfalls to spectacular limestone caverns, there is education and adventure around every corner.

On our doorstep, the Yorkshire Three Peaks is a must for any walking fans. Whether you choose to tackle one or all three of these challenging hills (Whernside, Pen-y-Ghent or Ingleborough), each offer a different perspective of this varied and rich landscape.

For the lover of art, the inspiring Dales landscape attracts many artists, sculptors and creators displaying their talents in the surrounding villages. Head to our Cultural Collection page for more information on local artists and galleries.

The Yorkshire Dales National Park website is a fantastic resource which showcases all there is to see and do while you’re here.
