Walk of the Month: Hawes to Sedbusk

We like to help you explore the area whilst you’re staying with us. For those of you that can get out on foot, we hope our monthly walks help give you a little inspiration whether you visit us weekly, monthly or just once a year.

For the month of July, why not try this undulating walk from Hawes to Sedbusk, via Hardraw, where you can make a small detour and visit the famous Hardraw Force waterfall. The route can be quite strenuous in places.

 

Where to wander this month: Hawes to Sedbusk 

The details: 

Distance: 3.5 miles (5.5 km) circular

Approx. Time: a minimum of 1.5 hours

Terrain: fields, tracks, roads, some ladder stiles and gates. Parts of the route can boggy when wet.

Important info:  Remember to follow the countryside code and to prepare for all weather conditions. Dogs must be kept on a lead when crossing farmland.

The route:

The route starts in Hawes from the Hawes National Park Centre Car Park (DL8 3NT).    It is a 40 minute drive to the start of the walk from Riverside. There are toilets available in the car park at the beginning, and plenty of pubs, shops & Cafes in Hawes.
