Local Events

What better way to enjoy a short break than to immerse yourself in local life. To help you do that, here are some dates for your diary showcasing the fantastic array of fairs, shows and festivals we have within an hour’s drive from the park.

AUGUST

Settle Flowerpot Festival – All August – Annual display of quirky flowerpot creations, guaranteed to amaze and amuse. Find out more here. 

Hoggs Herder – Saturday 1st – Outdoor music with food & drink at the Hoggs n Heifers pub, family & dog friendly. Find out more here. 

Trayned Bandes at Skipton Castle – Saturday 1st/Sunday 2nd – Live Re-enactment following a Civil War Regiment prepare for battle against the Parliamentarian Army. Find out more here.

Skipton Artisan Market – Sunday 2nd – Held on the first Sunday of each month in the Canal basin, featuring stalls with food, gifts, household items and more. Find out more here.

Bouncefest Morecambe – Tuesday 4th – Fun filled inflatable play zone for kids of all ages. Find out more here. 

Gaping Gill Winch Meet –  Friday 14th – Friday 23rd – Craven Potholing Club host the chance for the public to explore Gaping Gill. Find out more here.

Bouncefest Kendal – Wednesday 12th – Thursday 13th – Fun filled inflatable play zone for kids of all ages. Find out more here. 

Morecambe Maritime Festival – Saturday 15th – Celebrate Morecambe’s proud maritime culture & heritage with Sea Songs & Shanties and outdoor activities on the promenade. Find out more here. 

Bentham Beer & Music Festival – Saturday 15th – Bentham’s annual beer & music festival returns on Saturday 15th August with the “Beer Bus Taxi”. Full line up to be confirmed.

Bouncefest Morecambe – Tuesday 18th – Fun filled inflatable play zone for kids of all ages. Find out more here. 

Flores De Chevalerie at Skipton Castle – Saturday 22nd/Sunday 23rd – Flores De Chevalerie showcases genuine competitive combat combined with historic authenticity in this 13th Century tournee brought to life! Find out more here. 

Gargrave Show – Saturday 22nd – Agricultural show in its 120th Year, featuring livestock classes, horticulture, baking, family fun, fell race and much more. Find out more here. 

Bentham Beats – Saturday 22nd – Bentham Playing Fields presents live music, disco, bbq, bar, stalls, kids activities, silent disco, camping, stand up bingo. Find out more here.

Malham Show – Saturday 29th – Country Show & Sports day, with livestock classes, traditional dales skills, children’s zone, Thwaites Brewery Dray, food marquee, fell races & more. Find out more here. 

Ingleton Horse & Dog Show – Sunday 30th – Fun day of horse shows, gymkhana games and charity dog show.

 

SEPTEMBER

Kilnsey Show – Tuesday 1st – Agricultural show that has been marking the end of Summer since 1897. Showcasing farming life through livestock classes, equine events, sheepdog trails, baking, handicrafts, horticulture & the Crag Race. Find out more here. 

Kendal Music Festival – Friday 4th / Saturday 5th – Live music across a host of venues in Kendal. Find out more here. 

Grassington 1940s Weekend – Saturday 19th/Sunday 20th – Grassington transforms into a living snapshot of 1940’s England for the weekend, with vintage vehicles, live entertainment and much more. Find out more here. 

Yarndale – Saturday 26th/Sunday 27th – “The Festival of Yarn & Woolly Creativity” returns to Skipton Auction Mart, with a variety  of exhibitors with “yarny” stuff to sell. Find out more here.
